Local Literary Organizations
WriterHouse – Offers writing space and meeting space for members, hosts a wide variety of classes and writing activities for the community, as well as a summer writing camp for area youth.
Virginia Arts of the Book Center – Offers workshops on the art of bookmaking and letterpress printing – and member opportunities
The Bridge P.A.I. hosts a monthly author reading and a variety of events to engage the community and arts in conversation.
JMRL Library system – Musings is a teen writers workshop in Crozet. We have the largest county in the Commonwealth, and transportation during the week can be challenging for teens. We are delighted to find support for teen writers in our local libraries, as well as book clubs and teen advisory boards.
McGuffey Center – A storied history of supporting literary artists, from letterpress printing, to bookmakers and poets.
Piedmont Council of the Arts Granted an award in 2013 as the best Community Arts Organization in Virginia – hosts the Rising Star Awards for Teen Artists (We have been given one nomination for a Rising Star Award for a high school junior or senior writer for their outstanding talent and promise in the arts. )
